DAYS / 7 NIGTHS AMAZING SUMATRA OVERLAND TOUR
DAY 01 Medan - Bukit Lawang / Bahorok
upon
arrival, welcome service by our guide, snack box and daily mineral water will
wait in the bus . city tour to visit maimoon palace and buddhist temple. then
drive westward to bahorok passing sumatra`s palm oil and rubber plantation with
countryside landscape. arrive in bukit lawang, check - in to a simple lodge for
overnite. rest of day is at leisure.
DAY 02 Visit Orang Utan - Berastagi
morning,
walk along the riverbank to the crossing point and across the river by small
canoe to orang utan rehabilitation center. then hike up the hill through
sumatra rain forest untill the feeding site of orang utan. enjoy your time by
exploring the activity of orang utan during feeding time. after the visit, walk
back to your hotel preparing yourself to leavebahorok. then drive to brastagi.
enroute, visit peceran where a village with a number of traditional houses that
are still being used. arrive in brastagi check-in to hotel for overnite stay.
DAY 03 Berastagi - Samosir Island
leave
brastagi for parapat a famous lake resort lies on the east shore of lake toba.
enroute visit the slender sipiso-piso waterfall which 120 from the north side
of lake toba . then continue to pematang purba to see the long house at
pematang purba kingdom at the ancient time, then stop at simarjarunjung hill
for lake toba panorama to taste the ginger tea and fried banana (own acount).
arrive in parapat, across the lake by ferry boat to reach samosir island.
DAY 04 Samosir Excursion tour
after
breakfast, observe the samosir island cruise by ferry boat. enroute, visit
ambarita to see an old village of batak with its ancient megalithic furniture.
then, drive to simanindo to see folk dance performance of batak people,
children learning in school and other activities of batak. before returning to
your hotel, visit tomok to see the grave complac of king sidabutar in the
afternon enjoy your time to walk around tuk-tuk or swim in the clearly of lake
toba
DAY 05 Samosir - Sipirok / Padang Sidempuan
cross
back the lake to reach parapat. continue drive to sipirok/sidempuan with stop
at jangga dolok to see batak traditional village and walk along the rice field
to meet the local people for observing their activities. proceed to pineapple
farm and balige traditional market with its richly ornamented market building.
then winding along the road from tarutung to sipirok. stop for overnite in
sipirok / padang sidempuan.
DAY 06 Sipirok / Padang Sidempuan - Bukit Tinggi
the
journey today is rather long but worth while to exhibits the inner part of
sumatra. the scenery of mountains, rivers, valleys and traditional villages
will relieve you from your weariness. stop at aek sijornih waterfall with
beautiful surrounding and sihepeng botanical garden planted with various spicy
trees such as pepper, cinnamon, clove, etc. visit a unique moslem school. then
mark down your time while passing by equator line monument in bonjol. continue
to the most charming town, the heart of minangkabau highland and center of
matrilineal society, bukittinggi for overnite.
DAY 07 Minangkabau Highland Tour
Fullday
tour to exlore the beauty and cultural aspects of Minangkabau Highland,
visiting the landmark of Bukittinggi - Jam Gadang (Clock Tower), the uniqueness
of local market, Fort De Kock, Ngarai Sianok or a grand kenyon. Continue to
visit Pandai Sikat - a village famous with its hand weaving and wood carving
industry. Travel further to Pagaruyung palace, a site of ancient Minangkabau
Kingdom where women ruled in matrilineal society. Before returning to hotel
visiting traditional coffee milling at Sungai Tarab. Drive back to Bukittinggi
for overnite.
DAY 08 Bukit Tinggi - Airport
After
breakfast, leave Bukittinggi on a two - hour journey for airport. Enroute
stopover at Anai Valley to enjoy and witness the beauty and greenery of Anai
valley park and waterfall. End of service.
